OBORONPROM's strategic task in the engine making industry is to restore and maintain Russia's modern engineering skills in gas turbine equipment by facilitating the development and mass production of modern and internationally competitive engines.
Key areas
- Development and mass production of modern gas turbine engines for the aerospace industry, power generation, shipping, rail transport, pipeline transit and land transport.
- Modernization and maintenance of equipment manufactured by ODK companies.
- Implementation of comprehensive development programs for gas turbine engine makers.
- Concentration and channelling of intellectual, technological and financial resources into the implementation of new technologies and international standards at the gas-turbine engine making companies.
Main objectives
- To establish ODK as one of the Top 5 international manufacturers of gas turbine equipment.
- To maintain the ODK share of the Russian market at or above 70 per cent in the long term, catering to the needs of OAK, ‘Russian Helicopters’, ‘Gazprom’, Rosatom, municipal customers, federal agencies and energy companies.
- Increasing the share of exports in ODK sales volume to 40 % by 2020 by expanding into markets such as India, China, the Middle East and the CIS countries.

- SaM-146 engines
- a family of civilian engines (thrust 9-18 tons)
- a family of new generation military engines
- a family of new generation helicopter engines
- a family of new generation industrial gas turbine equipment max 60 MW and 60-11 MW
